"SERVICE PROJECT OF THE MONTH"

Children for Children invites you to participate in the July Service Project of the Month at the Cherry Street Park. Volunteers will be painting murals to raise awareness about malaria, playing games designed to educate people about the world water crisis, and participating in other fun hands-on-service projects.
 
"SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES"

Join Children for Children in the office or at summer events. Help prepare project supplies or run hands-on service projects. Check out the list of dates and remember to RSVP.
 
"AREYVUT SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM"

Date: July 1-August 15, 2008
Summer interns are needed to help develop and run programs for schools, synagogues, and community centers as well as work on a variety of other projects.
 
"VOLUNTEER WITH A NON-PROFIT THEATRE COMPANY"

NY ARTISTS UNLIMITED is looking for volunteers for this summer. The company, founded in 1982, is dedicated to bringing professional theatre to under-served audiences. Volunteers are needed to assist with a wide variety of tasks.
 
"LEMONADE STAND EVENT HOST/VOLUNTEER"

Help fight childhood cancer by organizing an Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation event. It's easy, it's fun, and makes a difference in the lives of others.
 
"KIDS FOR KIDS ACTIVITIES"

Volunteers of any age can create craft kits and other fun activities which will be given to other children who face medical challenges.
 
"SERVING LUNCH WITH CARE"

You can help by serving and preparing lunch as well as organizing the donated food in the pantry.
 
"TEEN VOLUNTEER PROGRAM"

Volunteer to help frail and homebound seniors. Deliver birthday cakes, shop and deliver groceries, teach seniors computer use and spend time visiting with seniors.
 
"VOLUNTEER AT THE FOOD BANK WAREHOUSE"
Organization: The Food Bank for New York City

Food Bank NYC uses volunteers at the Bronx warehouse to breakdown, assess the quality of, and repackage food and non-food products into sizes suitable for distribution to the city's food programs.
 
"CHILD LIFE PROGRAMS"

As a volunteer you would provide recreational activities for pediatric patients in a playroom setting. Emphasis in art therapy, for volunteers aged 14 and up.
 
"VOLUNTEER STORY READER"
Organization: Reach Out and Read
Date: Ongoing
Volunteers with the Reach Out and Read program help to promote reading by sharing stories aloud with children and giving reading tips to parents in our health center waiting rooms. Currently there are six different locations in Sunset Park, Flatbush and Park Slope available for reading. Readers typically commit to two hours per week; however, scheduling is flexible.
 
"BABY BUGGY SORTING AND PATCHING PROJECT"

Baby Buggy delivers essential items for infants and young children to thousands of families in need throughout New York City. Volunteers help by sorting children's clothing and repairing small tears in clothing using iron-on patches.
 
"VOLUNTEER WITH PROJECT HOSPITALITY"
Organization: Project Hospitality
Date: Ongoing
Project Hospitality reaches out to community members who are hungry, homeless, or otherwise in need and works to help them achieve self-sufficiency.
