Help animals now!
It's time to talk about those who can't talk for themselves, is time to help animals! When people think about community service the often forget to think about those who need them the most, their pets. There are animal organizations that do community services with and for animals, that speak for these creatures that we born with out voice. This noble organizations work with animals that are victims of attacks, that lack health care, that are neglected and starving; depending on the situation the animals can be homeless, or living in a private house or even a zoo. They help them recover in a safe environment; like a wildlife sanctuary or an animal shelter. Most of this animal organizations are thankful to receive volunteers and donations, so if you would like to work with one of them contact one near you and ask them for information regarding their community service with animals programs. If you have a pet at home, you should include your child in taking care of the pet. Kids can learn that having a pet can be lots of fun, but that it also means lots of responsibilities. You can also teach you children to help others by teaching them to respect and help animals. Here are a few ideas of community service with animals, you can practice them on your own, teach them to your kids or pass them to your friends:
Collect and then donate supplies that animal organizations or animal shelter may need: Dog of cat food, milk substitute, blankets, cages, dog of cat shampoo or soap, and food bowls, towels.
Raise money for sick, injured, homeless animals and orphaned wildlife.
Organize a bowl-athon in your community. Donate al profits to local animal shelters or animal organizations.
From a clean plastic dish make a birdbath and a birdseed. Keep it filled with water.
Maintain water bowls in your yard during the fall and winter for both local birds and migrating ones.
Notify authorities immediately about pets left in hot cars.
Collect and donate supplies that a local zoo, animal shelter or food bank my require.
