1. How can my organization be included?
First, register with Children for Children. A step-by-step form is available online, simply fill out the contact information. Once you create a username and password, you'll be able to access your account whenever you want to post and edit opportunities.
2. What kinds of volunteer opportunities do you post?
All kinds! Take a look at our current postings to see how other organizations list their opportunities. We strive to provide a variety of options for New York City youth ages 0-18. If you have any questions about the relevance of your post, please email us and we'll review your ideas with you.
3. How do I post an opportunity?
After logging in, click on "POST an Opportunity" and follow the steps! Your posting should be online within 2 business days.
4. Why should I post?
Already in it's third year, the Kids for Community Database receives over 1,000 hits per week and is still a growing resource for the NYC community. Teachers, students, parents, and young people turn to CFC to help them find volunteer opportunities and project ideas. The volunteer database is one of a kind - focusing only on youth volunteering opportunities.
5. How can I be listed on the Community Spotlight?
CFC highlights events in our Community Spotlight, updated quarterly. Typically, we highlight options that complement the season, such as a holiday toy drive or summer volunteer festival. We also promote large-scale, one-day events fitting for a family. Please contact us if you think your organization has a fit!
6. Who will see my posting?
Once made active, students, parents, and teachers from all over will view your posting. The database receives over 1,000 hits per week.
7. Can I post more than once?
Of course! We highly recommend that organizations create a separate posting for each of their volunteer opportunities. Since our database is searchable by age, interest, location and group/individual volunteer opportunities, it is helpful for each posting to be as specific as possible.
8. What if something malfunctions?
Contact our office at 212.759.1462 with any immediate concerns; our staff is available during business hours to answer your questions. You can also email questions to the KC administrator.
